Almaas University is a specialized private university based in Mogadishu, Somalia. We pioneer education and research on natural resources — their sciences, their engineering applications, and their management and governance.
The university came into existence to enhance national capacities in natural resources development, addressing Somalia's needs in minerals, petroleum, water resources, and energy — including uranium, coal, wind, and solar power. Our aim is to enhance the responsible development and optimum management of Somalia's natural resources.
Beyond geosciences, Almaas has grown into a comprehensive university offering programs in Computer Science and IT, Economics and Management, Health Sciences, Law and Islamic Studies, and Education — preparing graduates across the full spectrum of Somalia's development needs.
