Intro of Undergraduate Programs

Almaas university is relatively new but it is determined to grow fast and take its place as the strongest Higher Education Institution in the country in terms of natural resources studies and researches. In order to cater for attracting students with interests in natural resources, the university has brought out natural resource undergraduate programs covering the following:

Duration of the BSc programs

The duration of the BSc programs is 4 years in all the above courses. The first year, consisting of two semesters is a foundation year in which the student focuses on sciences (Physics, chemistry, Biology), mathematics, English, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Islamic Studies. In the first year, there will be an introductory course on one of the core themes, and such courses will increase from Semester Three onwards. In the Seventh Semester, there is a summer internship of minimum of ten months. Finally, in the Eight Semester, each student will submit an original research work (the thesis) that comprises of a practical theme: either field work or laboratory-based theme.
